Spring Cleaning

I don't know about you, but I'm not really "in to" spring cleaning. I mean, we clean our house on a regular basis, but we don't do the whole "spring cleaning" thing, where you open all the closets and change out all the clothes, the linens, wash the curtains, clean the cobwebs and dust bunnies from the ceiling corners, etc. Every now and then, we'll get on a kick to do some purging, and cleaning is usually involved there, but it's not the big Spring event.

I do, however, think that Spring cleaning is good when it comes to your handbag or purse! I don't know how I end up with so much junk at the bottom of my purse. Maybe it's because I'm the mom. Who knows? But I think it's time to clean out the purses, and maybe even find a new one.

Hubby would love it if I carried THIS Spring Green "ESSENTIALS" bag from Xcessrize shown above. He loves the color for me, but I'm not so sure. I usually carry black or brown purses. I know, boring! Right? But I do have two pink purses. Maybe I'll have to break out of my "purse shell" this year, and just get something fun for the fun of it.

An Easter Tradition

My husband and his family have had this one particular Easter tradition for as long as they can remember: Cascarones, or "confetti eggs". I had no idea that you could find them on Etsy.com, until I did a search for "Easter" items to feature here on the blog. In case you don't know what to do with them--you pop them on top of someone's head at Easter. My advice, don't make or get any with loads of glitter in them. That's how my sister-in-law makes them, and the glitter stays on you and in your hair FOREVER!

These very fun-looking cascarones come from Gracie's Eggies.

The Solitary Teacup

Teacups and saucers are so often very pretty and feminine, and therefore make wonderful collectibles. However, sometimes we can lose or break the saucer and be left with just the teacup. What then? Martha Stewart shows that you can fill the teacup with a candle, and it makes a delightful gift or decoration piece. Check out more "Earth-Friendly Crafts" on Martha Stewart's website.

Paper Krazy

I've been in the market for some fresh, new greeting cards lately, and ended up buying about 10 cards today on Etsy.com. I also "hearted" a few shops for future purchases, and Paper Krazy, who made the card you see here, is one of those shops.
I'm really trying to purchase more handmade, rather than running to Target and buying greeting cards. In this economy, I'd rather support the stay at home moms, dads, grandparents, etc. who are working hard to make a living. I think Target will do ok without my greeting card purchase. I think Hallmark will too.
I would like to encourage you to check out some of the fantastic handmade greeting cards available on Etsy.com.
